La Red Internacional de Cuentacuentos (RIC), International Storytelling Network, es un portal de internet, www.cuentacuentos.eu , que agrupa a más de 970 cuentacuentos de 46 países en los cinco continentes. . ¿Cuáles son los objetivos de la Red Internacional de Cuentacuentos (RIC)? Los objetivos prioritarios de la la Red Internacional de Cuentacuentos (RIC) son el tender puentes de interconexión entre los narradores orales procedentes de todas las culturas del mundo, la dinamización de las bibliotecas y centros escolares, la animación a la lectura, la difusión de las obras maestras de la literatura tradicional y contemporánea a través del cuentacuentos, generar propuestas y actividades tendentes a difundir el trabajo de los cuentacuentos, fomentar los elementos críticos a través de artículos y publicaciones en torno a los cuentacuentos (teoría, práctica, formación, enseñanza, difusión, nuevas tecnologías...), colaborar con todas las entidades públicas o privadas que estén interesadas en esos mismos fines, y apoyar a todos los que realizan el trabajo de contar cuentos difundiendo gratuitamente en la propia web de la RIC los perfiles, espectáculos, curriculums, videos, formas de contacto directo, y artículos teóricos que deseen dar a conocer. ¿Qué información ofrece en su portal la Red Internacional de Cuentacuentos (RIC)? La RIC quiere ser una herramienta de información y consulta para todos los cuentacuentos, bibliotecas, centros escolares, promotores y concejalías de cultura, e instituciones educativas y culturales, y para ello alberga el mayor listado de profesionales del cuentacuentos del mundo, así como festivales, bibliografías, enlaces, cuentos y artículos teóricos. Dentro de la web de la RIC puedes encontrar: · Listado de los narradores inscritos en el portal de la RIC: Directorio de 900 cuentacuentos profesionales repartidos en 46 países de los cinco continentes. Cada ficha, cumplimentada personalmente por cada narrador, contiene el nombre profesional del cuentacuentos, los datos de contacto (email, teléfono), el nombre de los espectáculos que ofrece, tipo de público al que se dirigen, breve currículum, idioma de los espectáculos, obra publicada, dirección de su web y blog, y enlaces a vídeos en youtube.

Para hacerse amigo o fan de la RIC en facebook http://www.facebook.com/InternationalStorytellingNetwork solo hay que pulsar el icono correspondiente; . ¿Qué requisitos se requieren para aparecer como cuentacuentos en el listado de la RIC? Solo pueden aparecer en el listado de la RIC los cuentacuentos profesionales que lo hayan solicitado y que su solicitud haya sido aprobada. Los criterios que determinan a juicio de los responsables de la RIC si alguien es o no es cuentacuentos profesional tiene que ver con varios indicadores, entre los que están: los años de ejercicio como cuentacuentos, la formación (escénica, literaria, pedagógica, técnica vocal…), la adecuación del repertorio, la frecuencia de contadas, la presencia en festivales, la publicación de libros o artículos relacionados con la narración oral o la creación literaria, la investigación teórica en torno a diversos aspectos de la narración oral o el folclore, las referencias positivas que de ellos puedan ofrecer otros profesionales (cuentacuentos, bibliotecarios, promotores culturales, profesores), la existencia de registros en Internet de su actividad como cuentacuentos, el mantenimiento de una web o un blog especializados, las actividades de difusión del patrimonio oral y la promoción de la lectura, la calidad de sus espectáculos, el tiempo de dedicación a dichas actividades, etc. Para aparecer en el listado de cuentacuentos de la RIC no es preciso cumplir todos los requisitos expuestos, pero sí algunos de ellos, con la suficiente claridad como para que tenga sentido realizar un nuevo registro. En un 95 % de los casos la decisión es bastante clara, en un sentido u otro. En el resto de los casos, que podrían llamarse "dudosos", el criterio geográfico y cultural tiene su importancia. Cada semana se reciben en el correo de la RIC solicitudes nuevas. La mayoría son desestimadas porque no cumplen los requisitos antes expresados. Puede que haya algún error a la hora de inscribir o negar la inscripción de algún cuentacuentos, nadie es perfecto. Las fronteras de quién puede estar y quién no puede estar listado como cuentacuentos en el portal de la RIC, en el 5 % de los casos “dudosos”, no están construidas con zanjas de cocodrilos y cercas electrificadas. El objetivo de la RIC es trabajar en favor del cuentacuentos y potenciar su trabajo, no sentar cátedra ni expedir certificados de idoneidad. . ¿Existen cuentacuentos en la RIC que no se hayan dado de alta personalmente? No, no hay. Todos los datos personales de los cuentacuentos que aparecen en el portal de la RIC han sido aportados personalmente por los propios cuentacuentos. Nadie puede estar listado en su base de datos sin haberlo solicitado personalmente, y sin suministrar los datos que aparecen en su ficha de la web. La Agencia Española de Protección de Datos controla y vigila el fichero de la RIC, y obliga a cumplir la Ley Orgánica de Protección de Datos.
¿Hay que pagar alguna cuota por estar en el listado de la RIC? No, no hay que pagar ninguna cuota por aparecer en el listado de cuentacuentos de la RIC. Los coordinadores no cobran nada por el trabajo que realizan en la RIC. Los responsables del portal de la RIC no reciben contraprestación pecuniaria alguna por el hecho de ser administradores de la web www.cuentacuentos.eu. La RIC no ha recibido, hasta el momento (junio de 2011), ninguna cantidad procedente de subvenciones y/o sponsors. . La RIC está coordinada por quince especialistas de reconocido prestigio internacional. . ¿Qué función cumplen los coordinadores de la RIC? Desde todos los lugares del mundo llegan al correo de la RIC cientos de noticias, informaciones, propuestas, sugerencias y memoria de actividades de los cuentacuentos. Buena parte de este flujo de información es aportado, difundido, canalizado, o impulsado por los 15 coordinadores de la RIC. Ser coordinador de la RIC no es un cargo oficial, ni un título acreditativo, sino un reconocimiento al esfuerzo personal que cada uno de ellos realiza en favor de la RIC y de los cuentacuentos. Los coordinadores actuales, seleccionados por su larga trayectoria y reconocimiento profesional internacional, aceptaron desde el principio la invitación que les formularon Enrique Páez y Beatriz Montero para crear de modo conjunto el proyecto actual de la RIC, y ejercer esa labor de coordinación de modo voluntario y no remunerado.
