"From her earliest years, Catherine has been fired by a love of language and all that it can do.

A bookish child, she discovered the joy of performing to an audience at an early age. So, after reading English at Oxford University she studied drama and found her dreams come true when she went to work as an actress at the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Having made the - it has to be said to some surprising - decision to move away from acting, Catherine went first to the RSC's education department, where she wrote publications presenting the work of the company to young people. She then spent  a number of years as a professional freelance writer. 

It is with excitement and pleasure that Catherine has entered the world of storytelling, a unique and powerful form of human expression with roots in the ancient past - and an enduring power to satisfy.
